Media Studies

Journalism

If you are interested in publishing or printing then Journalism is the right choice.  You  will be involved in writing and publishing the College newsletter, Nelsons Column, the Yearbook and you will also be involved in the periodic publishing of the student newspaper.

This course is more than just learning about how to report on news and write up stories. It is also designed for you to learn about photography, editing, layout, problem solving and meeting deadlines.

 

Radio Production

If you're into music whether you like to play it, listen to it or talk about it, then Radio Production should be a big deal for you.

You will get to be part of the in-house radio station - Stax Radio, along with visiting other radio stations in and around Hobart. If you're really keen you could also join up with the Edge/Hobart College Schoolies Crew, who have a regular radio slot every week on Edge 99.3 FM.

You will also get to do interviews with bands around Tasmania, put together awesome events, and create great audio productions.

It's fun, it ain't quiet and great things do happen...
