Students are encouraged to avail
themselves of the following sources of information:

The
librarians
Students
should ask in person at the Loans Desk
anytime for help with locating the resources they need. They can
also
email
one of the Librarians with their query.

Library catalogues
Dedicated terminals in the Library, as well as all networked
computers in the College, provide access via the Internet to
College's
Library catalogue as well as the catalogues of the
State Library and other Tasmanian libraries.

World
Wide Web
Students can search the WWW using their Internet access.
Online help is available to all students for
finding resources on the WWW.

Reference materials
Researchers can use print sources such as the Library’s encyclopaedias
for authoritative, condensed information, and
dictionaries for definitions. The State Library of Tasmania
provides links to
online reference sources.

Databases
eLibrary (once: Electric Library) and Australian
and New Zealand Reference Centre provide access to full-text articles from
newspapers and magazines (as well as from books, maps, pictures,
audio/visual, TV and radio transcripts). Access to these
databases is restricted to staff and students of the College.

Statistics
The Australian Bureau of Statistics is
online and in print, and includes
Tasmanian statistics. Other sources include
Statistical Resources on the Web and the State Library of
Tasmania’s
International Statistics.

materials on time so that they can be shared fairly by everyone
(this also avoids a bill for overdue items!)

responsibility of each individual to abide by the Copyright Act. A section of the Act
is displayed near each copy machine. All students are expected to
make themselves aware of
their
copyright obligations.
