Enrol in the Colleges Open Learning    program but come to the Huon LINC for regular study time, teacher assistance and internet access.

Offering Learning Pathways to WORK

Hobart College offers a range of courses in the Huon Valley, using the Huon LINC building as their base.

Courses will provide pathways to work for individuals with a variety of education and training needs including:

Year 11 or 12 students who may find it difficult to travel to Hobart College at Mt Nelson every day.
 

bullet

Students who would like to study part-time in the Huon and part-time at the Mt Nelson Campus.
 

bullet

Young Mums
 

bullet

Those wanting to return to work
 

bullet

Students wanting part-time work and part- time study


VET Courses on offer are:

VET Certificate 1 in Workplace Skills

bullet

VET Cert 1 and 2 in Retail

bullet

VET Cert 1 and 2 in Business

All courses include supported work placements in the Huon Valley or Kingston.  On the Job training is a vital part of our VET courses and often leads to employment.

Year 11 and 12 Courses will be tailored to suit your individual needs, but are likely to include TCE subjects such as:

Work Readiness 2-4C

bullet

Maths at Work 2-4C

bullet

Applied English 2-4C

bullet

Computing 3C

A full-time course for a Year 11 student is likely to include Literacy and Numeracy, Workplace Skills and Future Options (a range of short units on youth issues, practical workshops and excursions).
